Reddit, Kiara Robles, the woman that made headline news for being pepper sprayed while wearing a red “
Make Bitcoin Great Again” hat at the UC Berkeley riots, told Redditors that many commonalities exists between Trump supporters and cryptocurrency enthusiasts:
“There's a huge overlap of values between people on the Trump train and people in the crypto community. I want to see Bitcoin scale with worldwide mass adoption.”
When asked by a fellow Redditor if there is growing interest in Bitcoin among Trump supporters, Robles characterized Trumpians as an “untapped network of users.”
“Most of them have never heard of it but they take some sort of interest in economics.,” she adds.
Robles’ also views President Trump, along with Silicon Valley billionaire Peter Thiel, who is a part of Trump’s transition team, as being good for the future of Bitcoin.
More specifically, Robles believes a tax on remittances to Mexico would boost Bitcoin usage, “If Trumps stamps a tax on remittances, that kind of capital control would be really great for Bitcoin.,” explained Robles.
Like many other Trumpians, Robles views illegal immigration from Mexico as a significant issue, saying the hiring of illegal immigrants in the United States should be outlawed.
Robles' AMA was one of the most upvoted posts on the Bitcoin subreddit, garnering 942 comments and 795 upvotes.
